(* affiliate link) Hey Guys! This is the Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad *! This palette was first released in around November of 2020 and I only recently picked this up during the Spring Sephora VIB sale *. I’ve been thinking about how lovely is the color story of this quad!
One fun fact I discovered when I started writing this review is that, it seems Sephora and most online reviews about this palette has misspelled ‘Bronzey’ to ‘Bronzy’! Whichever is the most common word for bronze-y, they shouldn’t misspelling the name of the product!
This Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam quad is a pretty palette with a simple but yet professional design in its packaging. The quad itself is also somehow bigger than what I expected.

About the Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad
This Mario Bronzey Glam Quad is retailed for $25 USD, it contains 4x 0.04 oz/1.2 g of product. As a comparison, the Luxury Eyeshadow quad from Charlotte Tilbury * contains a total of 0.17 oz or 5 g of product, so even though this palette feels bigger somehow, there are slightly less products than the CT quads given how small the CT ones feel!
The quad is made in the USA.
There are 1 matte and 3 shimmers in this palette. The 2 shimmers on the left (BG 1 and BG 3) of the quad are regular shimmer with the same texture, but the brassy golden olive shade (BG 2) is softer and more pigmented and creamy. It is like the thicker type of shimmer shadows that have a crumbly texture, although BG 2 doesn’t apply thick and is still very reflective.
On Makeup by Mario’s official website, there are more information about his Glam Quads than on the Sephora’s website, so let’s take a look at what Mario says about these quads:
“Metallic shades can be used wet, for added intensity”, “high-pigment shadows deliver full, one-swipe coverage using the fingers or a brush”, “exclusive technology provides superior grip and extended wear” and “infused with soothing, skin-conditioning ingredients for even application and super-comfortable wear”.
We will talk about the formulation and if the shadows are doing what Mario claimed next!
Ingredients and formulation of the Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad
All the shades in this Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad contain talc and dimethicone. Only BG3 and BG4 have talc as the 3rd and 1st ingredients respectively, others are much later in the list.
There is also no detectable fragrance, and the shadows are all parabens-, sulfate-, and cruelty-free.
For the formulation, I was actually quite impressed by the pigmentation of the shades. All the shimmers are very nice, metallic and easily picked up with a brush or finger. However, I also feel like they are quite hardly pressed.
BG1, described as warm champagne, at the upper left, feels the hardest pressed in the quad. BG2 and BG3, described as brassy golden olive and muted bronze respectively, at the upper right and lower left, are soft and creamy to the touch. The only matte in the quad, BG4, described as rich brown, at the lower right, is decently pigmented and blended easily, although a little bit on the drier side.
In terms of the wear and whether they feel comfortable on the lid, as mentioned in the description from Makeup by Mario’s site, I don’t sense any difference compared with many other shadows from Sephora. Nothing particular stands out, just regular.
Swatches for the Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad
The eyeshadows in this Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad are all very beautiful! They were swatched very smoothly and I love the pigmentation of the shades, although the first shade is slightly less easy to pick up or less pigmented than the others, it is still a very pretty shade!
I was surprised that BG2 and BG3 were quite different swatched, as they look very close in the pan. Indeed the color story of this Bronzey Glam quad reminds me of the Charlotte Tilbury Green Lights * (or The Rebel) quad (reviewed here). Although the textures and finish of the shades are not the same, BG2 and BG3 give me the same vibes are some of the shades in the Green Lights quad.
Eye looks created using the Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad
Believe it or not, these are actually 2 different eye looks! Admittedly, they are very similar. In the upper look, I used the shade BG1 in the inner 1/3 of my lid and the inner corner as highlight. In lower look, I used BG2 in the inner 1/3 and BG1 only at inner corner. In both looks, I used all the 4 shadows in the quad.
So, if you don’t count using only one shade as an all-over shadow look, I think this Bronzey Glam quad essentially only gives me one distinct look.
Interesting, as I compared this to the Charlotte Tilbury Green Lights quad * above, I think the depth of the eye look created using Bronzey Glam is much more limited than Green Lights, especially when we’re talking about an eye look using 3-4 shades in each quad. Maybe that’s why Green Lights is much more expensive than Bronzey Glam! There is something about Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadows that is elegant and beautiful!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I like this Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad. I will honestly say that this quad doesn’t impress me nor disappoint me, given the price of the product. Taken the quality, packaging and the color story, and maybe the brand name, together, I think $25 USD is a fair price. That’s true that there is not much variety for the eye look created, but considering it’s a travel friendly 4 color quad, I think it’s understandable and reasonable.
For whether I’ll recommend this quad, I think if you like bronzy eye looks that you can conveniently travel with, this is a great option as the quality of the shadows are quite nice. But other than that, I would not say this is a must-have. I’m sure there are great or even better drug store version of this color story that are more affordable.
I will rate this Makeup by Mario Bronzey Glam Quad as:
- Texture: 7/10
- Color payoff: 8/10
- Longevity on eye lid: 8/10
- Quality consistency among shades: 8/10
- Color scheme uniqueness: 5/10
- Affordability: 7/10
