BareMinerals Mineralist Ocean Wonders Holiday Eyeshadow Palette

(Contains affiliate links) Hey Glamminers! Long time no see! I finally have some time to write a couple of blog post recently. There are a lot in my writing queue, but I decided to write this limited edition BareMinerals palette first in case it’s still available by the time you read this post and feel interested.

About the BareMinerals Mineralist Ocean Wonders Holiday Eyeshadow Palette

This BareMinerals Mineralist Ocean Wonders Holiday Eyeshadow Palette retails for $32 USD and it is a holiday limited-edition palette for 2023. This palette is currently on sale on Macy’s and BareMinerals’ websites (as of 12/21/2023)!

The palette contains 6.6 g or 0.23 oz of products. It is also made in Canada.

This palette contains 3 mattes and 3 shimmer eyeshadows. They are said to be ocean-inspired shades, made of talc-free and rich mineral pigments. Like the other Mineralist eyeshadow palettes from BareMinerals (see more eye looks and reviews of Ultranatural and Sunlit here), the packaging is made of recyclable, plastic-free cartons:

The full list of ingredients can be found on BareMinerals’ webpage here. They are essentially made of clean ingredients, talc-free, mineral pigments. They are also vegan and cruelty-free. BareMinerals are one of the brands that I trust in terms of having reliable and clean ingredients!

As for the eyeshadows, I didn’t have high hope that I can create a complete eye look with just the shades in this palette, which are very limited to be honest. Although I still feel like I need to use other transitioning shades and deepening shades for depth, this palette alone actually works by itself. The shimmer/glitters in the gunmetal shade (Inlet) does not stay on the eyelid once it was blended. So that it can be used as the outer corner deepening shade. But you do need to build it up to make it more visible.

Many of you may wonder if the dark blue shade (Tidal) is patchy, since most of the blues do. I can tell you that this is much better than other blue shade that I tried. They are still a little bit patchy, but after you build it up, it’s not an issue.

However, both Inlet and Tidal are a bit dry.

Other mattes in this palette are great and I love how blendable they are!

As for the pink (Horizon) and green (Aqua) shimmers, they are highly reflective and I love them! Beware that they do contains microglitters. Among them, Aqua is my favorite, it’s so smooth and pigmented. Horizon is more like having a slightly translucent base, but it can be a pretty topper.

I think this Ocean Wonders palette has better qualities than their other regular Mineralist palettes, at least for the ones that I reviewed before.

Other than the 2 deeper shades that are a little dry (I’m really being critical!), all other shades in this palette work very nice and pigmented! I’m really impressed but the 2 foiled shades, they are beautiful.

Here I used the pink shimmer shade (Horizon) on the majority of my eyelid. I love how sparkly and shiny this eye look becomes once I added Horizon! And the gunmetal (Inlet) and marine blue (Tidal) shades worked very well at the outer corner for creating the depth! I don’t see any patchiness once everything blended. This is a complete eye look for me with only using the shades in this palette!

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think this BareMinerals Mineralist Ocean Wonders Eyeshadow Palette is a hit for me! Although the number of shades are limited and you probably need to work a little harder to build up the deeper shades, the shimmers in this palette have made-up for the downside! Especially with the holiday discount that is going on, I think this palette is totally worth the price!

I will rate the BareMinerals Mineralist Ocean Wonders eyeshadow palettes as:

  • Texture: 8/10
  • Color payoff: 7/10
  • Longevity on eyelid: 8/10
  • Quality consistency among shades: 5/10
  • Color scheme uniqueness: 9/10
  • Affordability: 8/10
