On the initial release of this Colourpop x Animal Crossing collab, almost everything was soldout in this first few hours! I was lucky to be able to get my hands on this Colourpop Nook Inc palette, the one that I actually most interested in!
The packaging of this palette is amazing! So cute and compact! There’s even a small mirror inside.

About the Colourpop x Animal Crossing nook, Inc. eyeshadow palette
This Colourpop x Animal Crossing nook, Inc. eyeshadow palette * retails for $12 USD, containing 0.12 oz, or 3.32 g of products inside.
This palette is vegan, cruelty free and no detectable fragrance.
There is 1 true matte, 1 matte with sparkly particles, 1 shimmer and 1 glitter shade.
According to Colourpop’s website, this nook Inc palette is ‘highly pigmented’, ‘applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky’. ‘This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly’.

The glitter shade at the bottom left (CEO) has a warning saying ‘not intended to use in the immediate eye area’. So please perform test and pay attention when using this shade.
Only the upper right shade (Made in the Shade) contains talc as the 14th ingredient. Otherwise, talc is not listed in any other shades in this Colourpop Nook Inc palette. I was a little surprised to see that the true matte shade at the bottom (Water Landing) does not contain any talc.
For the formulation of this Colourpop Nook Inc palette, I don’t think there is a dud here. Even the glitter shade is easy to use. They are not loose, but sort of bind together, so I did not experience any significant fallout with that.
All the shades in this Nook Inc palette is smooth and easy to blend. I especially like the pale green shimmer at the top (Yes…Yes!). This shade is so soft and creamy, very pigmented and beautiful shimmer.
For the matte and the matte with sparkles, they are not patchy at all, however, are tiny bit dry and not as pigmented as I expected. The dark forest green (Water Landing) looks very dark in the pan, but is not nearly as deep on the swatch, nor on the lid.

You can see how smooth is the shimmer Yes…Yes! in this palette (1st shade). The other 2 matte/semi-matte are also performing well. I like the smoothness of the dark green Water Landing.
The glitter shade (CEO) is non-messy and easy to use. I do not have a whole lot of experience with glitter as it’s not my favorite formula. But this one is nice and I don’t mind using it. When you apply it with your finger on the lid or the arm swatch, the glitters are very evenly applied over the entire area, which does not often happen for glitters.
An eye look created using the Colourpop x Animal Crossing nook, Inc. eyeshadow palette
Thanks to the easy to use glitter shade CEO, I like how sparkly this look ends up. All the shades in this palette coordinate well with each other. In this look, I used all the shades in this Nook Inc palette.
The only thing that I would like to improve is the depth of the look. As I mentioned before, the dark forest green shade Water Landing is not deep enough for the outer corner. I think you may be able to build it up a little more than I did and create more depth, but it is just not pigmented enough.
I also tried to polish the look a bit more by adding some light brown at the crease for the transition:
The browns help the look to ‘blend in’ better. I also used the brown to deepen the outer corner.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I like and will recommend this Colourpop x Animal Crossing nook, Inc. eyeshadow palette. Not only is the color scheme unique, but I am also sold by the cuteness of this palette! And of course, the eyeshadows in this palette is great.
I am more of a Colourpop fan nowadays given how good their eyeshadows are! (I’ve also recently reviewed their other eyeshadow palette (here) and super shock shadows (here)) With their price point, I think they are better than many many high-end eyeshadows from any brands. They are also very creative and you can pretty much find any shade and finish as you want from them.
Although I notice Colourpop is gradually increasing their product prices, they are still good values compared with drug store or high end brands. So I’ll continue to explore this brand and want to try more eyeshadows from them.
