(*affiliate link) Yay! Here comes the Day 7 look of the 7 Days of easy Valentine’s Day eye look! The final look in this series!

For this last eye shadow look, I want to do something with lavender and lilac, one of the popular shades for romantic looks. I based this look on the Colourpop Making Mauves eye shadow palette *.

I think this final look also correspond to my first look in this series, which is a darker, more smokey purple look.

These are the palettes that I used in creating this look. Same as before, for the eyeshadow palettes, I used selected shades from each of the palettes.

If you don’t already have the theBalm nude’tude eyeshadow palette, you can replace it with any white shimmer eyeshadow. I just used that to brighten my tear duct and also highlighting my brow bone.

I think the Making Mauves palette is really a big hit for me. I found this palette interesting because the shades there doesn’t seem to be working together in making a lavender/mauvy eye look, but the resulting look is pretty lavender. The shimmers in this palette are so stunning. However, the last shimmer (probably a super shock formula) in the second row just fell off straight onto my floor when I was holding the palette inverted. I was really sad about that..

For the Colourpop single shadow fluff, it is a creamy and opaque lilac shimmer. If you have the Lilac you a lot palette from Colourpop, it is the same as the center shade in the palette. I love the color of this fluff shade!

I’ve uploaded a YouTube video swatching all the shades in the Making Mavues palette with the fluff shade, go check it out if you’re interested:

How this look was created

  1. Apply the two mattes from the top row (R&R, Big Moves) of the Colourpop Making Mauves pressed powder palette * into the crease. Then repeat with the matte (Big Fig) at the lower right corner of the palette, but this time also blend into the lid, focusing on the outside part. Deepen the outer corner with the matte dark brown (Marquee).

2. Use the finger to apply the shimmer on the right (super shock formula) (Mauve On Up) of the Colourpop Making Mauves pressed powder palette * to the outer part of the lid. Then apply the lighter shimmer on the left (Bicoastal) to the inner part of the lid. (Beware that there will be quite a lot of fallout from the shimmer shades)

3. Once again using the finger, gently tap the Colourpop pressed eyeshadow in fluff * onto the lid over the shimmer shades just applied, focusing on the latter 2/3 of the lid away from the tear duct. Then highlight the inner corner and tear duct with the white shimmer shade (Sassy) from the theBalm Nude’tude Nude eyeshadow palette.
