Suspicion is the most recent Tom Ford Eye Color quad in my collection. It was previously launched with two other quads, Body Heat and Double Indemnity. Suspicion was the only Tom Ford eye color quad that somehow piqued my interest with its color story. Orangey, golden yellow and brown shades are right up my alley!

I like that their eyeshadows are usually not very intense but are pigmented enough to seen on the lid. If you are looking for something that are suitable for every day use to work and don’t require much work, I think you will like these eye color quads from Tom Ford.

The Formula

Although the 4 shades in the Suspicion eye color quad all look similar, it allows easy creation of eye looks that appear seamlessly blended and in harmony. These wet-dry formula eye shadows from Tom Ford also look multi-dimensional on the eyelid. As in his other quads with the same formula, there is no matte shade. All of them carry a beautiful sheen that is not loud or glittery. The formula is also very smooth and no skipping or crumbling.

As in the Honeymoon eye color quad that I talked about in my last post, these shadows also look a tad deeper when you see them in person. But for this quad, the photo captures quite well the difference in tones among the shades.

In the swatches (from top to bottom on my arm corresponds to the shades from top left clockwise in the quad), you can see they are quite distinct from each other. The shade on the lower left is a very pretty orangey yellow and is my favorite shade in this palette.

Comparison with Tom Ford Honeymoon

Yes, I know they are not quite the same, but hey it’s my only other permanent Tom Ford eye quad in my collection (the Soleil quads are limited edition), so why not :)! Here are the two quads side-by-side:

Just by looking at them, there are some similarities between them. But again, the swatches show they are quite different (as we expected ;)). I think the color scheme of Suspicion is generally lighter than the one in Honeymoon. May be that’s why I like and reach for Suspicion much more! It is somehow almost mesmerizing to me. I would take it with me when I travel in a heartbeat.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Tom Ford Eye Color quad in Suspicion is the most eye-catchy quad to me among all the Tom Ford eye quads. I definitely recommend it. But it is also pretty pricey ($88 USD), especially only for 4 shades. I think it is more of an item that you get to pamper yourself, which we all deserve sometimes in a while! I am rating this quad as:

  • Texture: 10/10
  • Color payoff: 10/10
  • Longevity on eyelid: 10/10
  • Quality consistency among shades: 10/10
  • Color scheme uniqueness: 8/10
  • Affordability: 5/10 (I usually get them at Sephora VIB sale)
