About Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette

This Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette is packaged in a metal tin with magnetic closure. It retails for $27 USD, containing 6 x 0.18 oz products: 4 mattes, 1 matte with shimmer, 2 metallics and 1 pearlized shades.

It is claimed to be ‘limited-edition palette has salty yet sweet neutrals and warm tones with buttery accents that can create endless, richly seductive looks. It also smells like salted caramel’.

For the smell of this palette, I actually did not notice any smell or fragrance to it when I opened the palette. Unlike the other palettes from Too faced, such as the Sweet Peach and chocolate palettes, I think the smell is much more subdue in this Salted Caramel palette. Imo, this is a positive improvement.

Ingredients and formula of Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette

As a typical Too faced eyeshadow formula, this palette uses talc as the key ingredients in all the shades except the deepest brown shade at the lower right corner.

The matte formula is super pigmented and pretty smooth, although is it not as buttery or soft as the Huda Beauty Haze Obsessions palette in Khaki Haze that I reviewed recently.

The metallics and pearlized shades are however very soft and easy to pick up by brush or fingers. The color payoff is tremendous in all these shades. I would say any of these shades in this palette is utterly pigmented, you get a lot of color pigments just a slight dip of a synthetic brush. The shades are also very easily blended out.

The actual colors of this palette I would say look a tiny bit deeper in person than in the photo above. The shade on the upper left corner is not a white, but a light skin color.

Here are the swatches of the Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette:

The shades are very pretty and opaque for one swipe swatches. Caramel Apple (upper right corner) is the ‘matte with shimmer’, which has only a few sparkles of shimmer left after swatching. The sparkles disappear with blending. This is a very vivid palette that matches well with the pumpkin theme for Halloween!

2 eye looks using Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette

This palette is very warm and basically a palette of pumpkin color, so as long as you are using the two mattes (‘Drizzle it’ and ‘Soft & chewy’) as the transition shade, and deepen with ‘Make me melt’, it mostly give you a similar look.

You can definitely use a single shade as a one-and-done shadow, but for making an eye look with more than one shade, I think this mini Salted Caramel palette gives you only a limited number of looks.

Eye look #1 using Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette

The first eye look I came out with using 6 of the shades in this palette (with an asterisk). It is very bright and as a person who doesn’t wear bold eye look, this is not a day time for me. Even though I like how it came out.

As a pink lover, I really liked this second eye look I created. the shade ‘Toffee’ is so pretty that I totally can just wear this anytime and in any occasion! This look is more simple and only used 4 shades. This is not as bold to me as the first look. I like this and would wear it again!

After making couple looks with this palette, I think the quality is very nice and worth the price! They just blend themselves out!

Final Thoughts for Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette

I like the new Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette. I will recommend it to those of you who like colorful or orange eye looks and not care too much if a palette is versatile or not. The quality is totally there and it is priced reasonably. However, if you want to have more depth in the looks, the deepest shade in this palette is not deep enough and it is not as pigmented too imo.

I will rate this Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette as:

  • Texture: 9/10
  • Color payoff: 9.5/10
  • Longevity on eye lid: 9/10
  • Quality consistency among shades: 9/10
  • Color scheme uniqueness: 9/10
  • Affordability: 8/10
