(* affiliate link) Hey Guys! This is the new Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette *! The first thing catches the eye of course is the cute sharky packaging of the palette! Like many people who got this palette, I purchased it mainly for the packaging! Both the box and the palette itself are so cute and giftable! I think I’ll keep the box at least for a while!
Before I got this palette, I didn’t have high hope for the quality of the eyeshadows itself, I didn’t even think about it. After I opened the packaging, I was really impressed by how it looks! The palette is sturdy hard plastic and there is a mirror inside. You can open it by flipping the cover up or twist it to the side so you can still see sharky when using it.

Ingredients and formulation of this Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette
Eyeshadows from Sephora Collections always have talc as the first ingredient. This Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette is a bit different. Although they all contain talc and half of the shades also have talc listed first, the remaining shades are less talc-heavy as you can see above.
It is also claimed to be ‘free of parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, sulfates SLS & SLES, triclocarban, triclosan, and contains less than one percent synthetic fragrance. It is also cruelty-free’ from Sephora’s website.
Carmine is listed as a potential ingredient as color additive.
The formulation of the shadows in this Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette is amazing! It seems they are not the typical Sephora Collection’s quality, which admittedly can fluctuate a great deal. As you can see from my swatch YouTube video linked below, the shimmery plum and black matte are especially stunning. I am very impressed by the black- non-patchy, very pigmented and smooth! I don’t have a black matte eyeshadow that nice in my own collection!
The other mattes and shimmers in the palette are also very easily blended, non-patchy and buttery smooth! I am so blown away by the quality of this palette!
Swatches for the Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette
You can see from the swatch photo that all the shades in this palette performs very nicely. The shimmers are smooth. The black is excellent. If I have to be picky, I’d say that the lightest beige and the muted red shades are less pigmented than I expected. But they can be easily built up without any issue.
Although the quality of this palette is well-worth the price, the color story is not what I normally gravitate towards. If I were to make some changes, I would change the top two shades on the arm swatch to something brighter, such as a champagne gold shimmer and a lighter brown (deeper than the light beige though) to make the look created less dull in color. That’s for my personal preference.
3 (or 2?) eye looks created using this Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette
I have created 3 looks, but to be fair it was more like 2 different looks plus one look that is a lighter version of the other.. so here they are:
To be honest, I don’t think this palette give too much of a variety for the looks you can create. In this first look, I used 5 out of the 6 shades. The outcome was a very pretty and easy-to-wear cool look, focusing on the lavender purple. This is my favorite shade in this palette. The closest shade in my collection now is the Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot in unleashed (reviewed here)! I love this look!
This is a pretty deep look and is not my favorite. I understand this is a 6-shadow palette, but it is really hard to create different look when you only have one light enough shimmer for the center of the lid. As I mentioned before, I really wish they had a lighter shimmer instead of the two duller shades at the top row of the palette.
This third look was created as I really liked the first look but wanted something lighter. This is easily what I will wear on a daily basis!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I think this Coach x Sephora Collection Sharky Eyeshadow Palette is fantastic and I will highly recommend it. Based on the cute packaging and the quality of the shadows inside, I think this palette is a very good deal! Of note, the number of looks that can be created using this palette is quite limiting imo, but I don’t think you’ll disappoint for the ones that come out.
