Tom Ford Violet Satine Eye Color Quad

(*affiliate link) Hey Guys! This is the new Tom Ford Violet Satine Eye Color Quad* in the Creme formula! Tom Ford released 2 quads this time. Other than Violet Satine, the other quad has bronze and khakis shades (Velours Kaki). Had I known the formula of this Violet Satine, I would have picked up Velours Kaki as well! Guess it’s still not too late now!

These new quads still have the classic Tom Ford eye color quad packaging with the protective pouch. But this time, they printed ‘TF’ on the packaging instead of just bare. I’m glad as least they changed something to make these new quads look different from the older ones.

About the Tom Ford Violet Satine Eye Color Quad Creme

This Tom Ford Violet Satine Eye Color Quad* retails for $90 USD. Yes, they have increased $1-2 USD in this year as I remembered. Although it doesn’t sound like a big jump in price given how much these quads cost, it still makes me think twice before deciding which one to pick!

Each of the 4 shades here contains 0.31 oz or 9 g of products. Similar to Rose Topaz and Tiger Eye (reviewed here), the shadows in Violet Satine are the powder-cream hybrid formula, which is different from Tom Ford’s wet-dry formula that he has previously released (also one of my favorite formulas!). Example of the wet-dry formula are the Eye Color quads in Honeymoon (reviewed here) and Suspicion (reviewed here).

The top two shades are shimmers and the bottom two are creamy mattes. According to Tom Ford, these eyeshadows are creamy and long-lasting, they also give a crease- and flake-resistant finish.

This quad is limited edition and is made in Italy.

Ingredients and formulation of the Tom Ford Violet Satine Eye Color Quad Creme

List of ingredients
List of ingredients

Same as their wet-dry formula eye color quads, these eye color quads creme are also talc-free. There is also no detectable fragrance from the eyeshadows.

The first couple of ingredients in the list (mica, triglyceride, dimethicone and silica) help to give the ultra smooth texture of these eyeshadows.

For the formulation, these are very pigmented and creamy! You can see how smooth are these shadows in the swatches below. It has everything I wanted from an eyeshadow: soft, creamy, smooth, pigmented, zero fallout and long-lasting! I have nothing bad to say about this quad (except that you need to pay a high price tag)!

The swatches were so smooth and creamy! I really can’t get over with how creamy and saturated these eyeshadows are! It maybe the creamiest eyeshadows in a pan that I’ve ever used! It’s very emollient, in a good way. They are much more pigmented than I initially expected, even more so than the older quads in this same eye color quad creme line (Rose Topaz and Tiger Eye).

The swatches were also very true to the shades you can see from the pan.

I can’t get enough of these eyeshadows!

I love the eye look created using this quad from Tom Ford! It was super simple and easy to create and it looks wonderful! You can just blend out with the lighter (mauvy) matte and then highlight the inner corner with the lightest shimmer, and you can be out the door in no time for an elegant daytime look!

Final Thoughts

Overall, I am in love with this Tom Ford Violet Satine Eye Color Quad Creme*! I think it’s worth the price for me, as the quality is superb! I love the violet color story as well. I won’t say this for every Tom Ford eye color quad, but I think this one is very high quality and is a hit!

I’m tempted to get a backup of this quad as it’s a limited edition. However, I would be skeptical if the creamy formula will dry out in a year, or even within a couple months. This is the only potential con that I can think of for this quad.
