(* affiliate link) Hey Guys! Welcome to my first month favorite blog!! As I am waiting for my recent purchases to be delivered, I figured I can share my March makeup favorites in the meantime!
In this first favorite, I’m going to talk about concealers, cream blushes, cream shadows and brow product! These items are either the most used products in March or my long term makeup favorites, even though some of them are not new releases per se.

March Makeup Favorites: Concealers
Since last year, I somehow stopped using foundations altogether, and instead, I started using only concealers to cover my discolorations and blend it out throughout my face.
I have been a long-time loyal fan for the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer *. I love the consistency of the Nars concealer- not too runny and very easily spread with any tools (I always use fingers). However, sometimes I found it a little too dry for my dry skin and it stays on my fine lines at the end of day. I honestly still love the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and will continue to buy and use it, but at the same time I want to look for some other alternatives- so I ordered the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer * and the Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Concealer *!
What I were looking for in a new concealer are: full(er) coverage, more hydration, no settling on my smile lines and doesn’t leave a dry concealer/powder patch under the nose piece of my glasses (probably only those of you who wear glasses will know what I’m talking about, haha).
I heard many good things about the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer * and the Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Concealer * when they first came out, but didn’t want to splurge so much at that time as they are pretty pricey! So I only got them recently when there was a 15% off from Sephora * (from a purchase of $75+ USD during on of their earlier promotions).
It turns out that I love both of these Dior and Pat McGrath concealers! For the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer, it feels a tiny bit more liquidy than the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, but my skin likes it a lot! It is more hydrating, have pretty good coverage (I would say on par to the Nars one), minimal settling on my smile lines, and more importantly, it doesn’t form a dry patch under my glasses after a whole day wear!
Overall, I am very happy with this Dior concealer! Although it costs $36 USD ($6 USD more than the Nars one), it contains almost 2 times the amount of product as Nars (11 ml in Dior’s versus 6 ml in Nars’).
For the Pat McGrath’s Sublime Perfection Concealer, it is very full coverage for me. I was very impressed the first time I wore it! At that moment, I thought may be the best concealer I ever tried so far! It has a closer consistency as the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, but feels still not as concentrated. This Pat McGrath concealer basically checks all my boxes for my ideal concealer above! However, it does make me feel I am wearing pretty heavy makeup, as my skin looks so flawless!!
I am still very excited and love this Pat McGrath concealer, but it is the most pricey among these 3 concealers: $32 USD for 5 ml of product. So I mainly save it for more special occasions or when my skin has too much blemishes.
For Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer, I use the shade 1.5N, which is a perfect match for my skin tone. For the Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Concealer, the shade I ordered (L5) is too yellow and pale on me. I think I am going to get L6 instead.
Here are the comparison with the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer that I have been using for a long time, which is in the shade Vanilla:
March Makeup Favorite: Setting Powder
My next makeup favorite is the setting or finishing powder! I first tried this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder * (in Diffused Light) when I got the Ghost face palette, which contains this and some other face powders in one palette. I adores how smooth and elegant is the finished look whenever I use this finishing powder! The powder is very finely milled, so it feels very lightweight on the face.
There was a time period I used exclusively loose powders to set my makeup, but after I tried this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, I was hooked and got a full sized compact. This Hourglass powder retails for $48 USD for 10 g of product. I have been using it daily since late 2020, and it still hasn’t hit pan yet! I do think I use less product than when I was using loose powder. It is definitely a keep and I’m not sure if I will ever completely move away from this product, unless I found something that is much better with a lower price!
March Makeup Favorite: Cream Blushes
In fact I was going to write a review for these Honest Beauty Creme Cheek Blushes * a while ago, but got distracted… They are really good cream blushes! I love them very much. They are so easy to use and blend seamlessly on powder without messing up anything underneath (as always I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder to set my concealer before putting anything else on)!
The 2 shades may look similar here, but I can see an obvious difference in tone between these two shades (Peony Pink for the brighter one, and Rose Pink for the more everyday kind of dusty pink shade) on my cheek. They are some of the very best blushes I have even compare with high end ones! I have been using these cream blushes non-stop since I got them.
Here is a swatch video I took before:
March Makeup Favorite: Cream Eyeshadows
Maybe I am hooked to cream products recently.. another of my March makeup favorites are also in the cream formula! They are the new MAC Paint Pots *! I have recently reviewed some of the newly released MAC Paint Pots (see my vol 1 and vol 2 reviews, more coming!).
Yes, I didn’t only use these MAC Paint Pots as the only eyeshadows all the time, but in many days I only did simple looks with a single MAC Paint Pot put all over the lid. They are perfect as a base for powder shadows to adhere and they last all day! They are my favorites in March!
I picked Art Thera-Peachy and Belle Epic as my favorites. Many times I only wore either one of them for a casual work day look. I feel polished and they work perfectly for a ‘no makeup makeup look’.

March Makeup Favorite: Brow Product
My last March makeup favorites is the Essence Superlast Eyebrow Pomade Pencil *! This Essence brow pomade is really very handy and I feel like I do my brow 2 times faster using this than my usual go-to brow product- the Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil *.
I have been trying A LOT of brow products in the last half a year and this Essence brow pomade may not be the best considering the color match for my brow, but it really surprised me on good it is! It doesn’t only fill my brow in a few strokes, but also tame my brow hair at the same time! I didn’t expect that based on the mediocre review and the price of this product. It definitely worth a trial if you’re curious!
I wish they made more color options in both light and deep ends of the spectrum! In the picture above, the upper 2 swatches were from 2-3 strokes and the bottom 2 were a single stroke to show how thin a line they can draw.
This Essence Superlast Eyebrow Pomade Pencil although is not the only brow product that I routinely use, it is a great addition that I often go back to. Up till now, the Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim Defining Eyebrow Pencil is still the best that I found comparing a dozen or more brow pencils (including those from other top brands like Benefits and ABH). Both of them are relatively affordable: $3.49 USD for 0.011 oz of product for the Essence brow pomade, and $7.99 USD for 0.003 oz of product for the Maybelline brow pencil.
These are my March makeup favorites. Have you ever tried any of them and what are your recent makeup favorites?
