(*affiliate link) Here is the Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette*! I first saw this and the other 3* mini on-the-fly eye shadow palettes on Too Faced’s official site, but they were still ‘coming soon’ for a long time until recently!
I almost also got the Light My Fire palette* too, due to my positive experience with the Too Faced Salted Caramel palette (reviewed here) couple months ago. But figured I should wait to see this That’s My Jam palette first. I’m so excited to try this bad boy out!

About the Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette
This Too Faced That’s My Jam eye shadow palette retails for $27 USD with 6 square pan eye shadows each having 0.02 oz or 0.8 g product, and 2 rectanglar pan shadows each containing 0.03 oz or 0.95 g of product.
Most of Too Faced’s eye shadow palettes have cute and playful packaging. These mini on-the-fly eye shadow palettes are no exception. Each of them has a different theme and color scheme on the outside corresponds to the color story of the palette. The Too Faced That’s My Jam palette is inspired by blueberries.
According to Too Faced, this palette has:
- 8 exclusive multi-finish shades
- Rich, high-pigment shadows offer true color payoff
- Silky-smooth formula blends effortlessly
- The smell of bubble gum
I’ll come back to these points later in this review.
Ingredients and formulation of the Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette
Same as many of their powder eye shadow formulae, all the matte shades in this Too Faced That’s My Jam eye shadow palette have talc as the first ingredient. While the other shimmer and dual-chrome shades also contain talc as one of the main ingredients, albeit not the first.
Also Too Faced does not specify whether this palette is free from common harmful compounds like sulfates and phthalates. On Sephora‘s* website, this Too Faced That’s My Jam eye shadow palette is labeled as parabens-free only. So if you want to avoid sulfates and phthalates, maybe this palette is not for you.
For the fragrance in this palette. It doesn’t smell like berries or bubble gum to me, although I suppose the smell of bubble gum can be pretty much anything.. The smell is not pleasant and kind of weird for me. It is very artificial and sweet. Besides, I can smell the fragrance when I’m wearing the eye shadows, it lasted for couple hours until it faded a little.
About the formulation of this palette, I definitely think it is less creamy and pigmented than the Too Faced Salted Caramel palette* (reviewed here), it even feels a bit dry. Too Faced describes this That’s My Jam palette as silky-smooth and high-pigment, I think it depends on what you compare to, but I don’t think this palette is. I wish this used the same shadow formulae as the Salted Caramel palette, especially the mattes.
For the shimmers and dual-chromes, they perform alright. They are smoother than the mattes but are still a tiny bit dry and not as opaque. They feel thinner, which may not necessarily be bad on the lid. When I put them on my lid, I found that I need to layer them to have enough pigmentation.
Swatches for the Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette
As I said before, the mattes leak pigmentation and can be somewhat patchy. I also found them to be not showing up well on the lid when applied with a brush.
Swatches for the matte shades are not satisfactory, they are generally not pigmented enough and somewhat patchy.
The lavender duo-chrome (Violet Femmes) reminds me of a similar shade in the Rare Beauty Magnetic Spirit eyeshadow palette (reviewed here), although a different shift.
Jam Session (the fuchsia at the corner) is like Iridescent Orchid in Pat McGrath Fleur Fantasia quad* (reviewed here). However, I love that shade in Pat’s palette, which is much more pigmented and impactful, with a creamy formula.
The shimmers shade Pick-up Limes (pale yellow) is more creamy and has a decent color payoff. However, the other shimmer We Be Jammin’ (rose) is rather dry. If any of the shades has hard pan, I think We Be Jammin’ is the shade.
2 eye looks for the Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette
I think this Too Faced That’s My Jam palette can be a versatile palette given the many distinct shades here.
The first look I created was centered around the fuchsia shade. I think this look is pretty but I had to build up the pigmentation even for the matte pink and brown shades. If you like a splash of color but not a super pigmented looks, you may like this!
I know many of you are probably thinking about a lavender/lilac look with this palette! Surprisingly I really like this look. I wasn’t expecting to like it as the shadows don’t feel as good quality as other Too Faced shadows. I like how the pink makes Violet Femmes looks more lilac. It is probably the same reason why I like Pat McGrath’s Fleur Fantasia palette so much!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I think this Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette is somewhat lackluster to me. I was very excited about the violet theme of this palette but the eye shadow quality is not the best from Too Faced.
Although I do like the lilac eye shadow look created using this palette and want to wear it again, the fragrance of this palette is so strong and unpleasant that put me off.
If the color theme speaks to you and the fragrance won’t bother you, I think this is still a fun and affordable palette to play around.
I with rate this Too Faced That’s My Jam on-the-fly eye shadow palette as:
- Texture: 6/10
- Color payoff: 6.5/10
- Longevity on eye lid: 8/10
- Quality consistency among shades: 5/10
- Color scheme uniqueness: 8.5/10
- Affordability: 8/10
