(*affiliate link) Hey Guys! Here is the Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette! I was on the fence about this palette for a while. I tried to look up some swatches and review for it but couldn’t find a lot. So I decided to grab this and try it out for myself! Hope it’ll be useful for someone else who is looking for information about this palette.
One thing that hesitated me about this palette was that, I have quite a lot of red or pink eyeshadow palettes. There are plenty of these red and ‘cherry’ tone shades in my collection from high end to drug store. And more to this, I mostly just wear brown and neutrals for a casual day-to-day makeup. I didn’t want to get this and let just let it sit in my makeup drawer. BUT, there is just something special about the color scheme and choice in this cherry palette that tempted me and made my keep thinking about it! (Feel like that’s always the reason why we have so many palettes in our makeup collection.. haha) So here we are!
This is the first Violet Voss palette I ever owned or tried. I got this I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette through Sephora *.
The front and back of this Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette has the same exact pattern and design on the box and on the palette itself.

Violet Voss also states on the back of the palette that these pigments may contain a colorant that is not approved for the eye area in the US, Canada and Brazil. These pigments are marked with an asterisk at the corner below:
For some reason, I do not see this palette available on Violet Voss’s website. As usual, I’ll link at the end where you could get this palette if you’re interested.
Ingredients and formulation of the Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette
As you can see from the list, all the shades in this palette contain talc, which is the 3rd and 4th ingredient in the pressed pigments and eyeshadows, respectively. There are also dimethicone and silica in all of these shadows. There is no detectable fragrance in this palette. Parabens are also not listed.
About the formulation, there are 9 mattes, 1 matte with sparkles, and 8 shimmers in this palette. From what I see in Sephora’s website, not only this I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette, but for many of Violet Voss’s palettes, it seems their eyeshadows are very pigmented. As I had an impression of their shadows being very pigmented and soft. However, when I tried this palette for the first time, I was surprised it wasn’t the case!
It does not necessarily mean a negative experience, but I think all the shadows here are rather hard pressed, as I do not pick up a ton of products even with my finger. They do not feel creamy imo, but they are not patchy or hard to blend either.
So they are not as pigmented as I expected, now I’m thinking if the eye look examples on Sephora’s website are so intense and saturated, I don’t know how much they have to build that up, or maybe they used some sort of eyeshadow media to create those looks.
For the performance of these shadows, I actually prefer they are not as pigmented, I can choose to have a lighter or more intense look depending on my need. One benefit of less pigmented and less creamy eyeshadow is that, there is virtually no kickback or fallout when I was using them. So these shadows are blendable and buildable, they are actually less messy to use and you can control them pretty easily.
Swatches for the Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette
The first thing I noticed from the sawtches was that, the shades are swatched more vibrant and generally lighter than what they appear in the palette. It is probably due to the shadows’ formula that I mentioned above.
I especially enjoy shimmer shades. They are very smooth, more creamy and pigmented than the mattes. Some shades can look quite similar to others, but they are in different formulae and complement each other nicely. I don’t find any dud here. All of them are non-patchy and very blendable.
Although they are not the same, I can see some similarities between the color stories of this Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette and the Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow Palette * (reviewed here), or the Nars Afterglow Eyeshadow palette *.
4 eye looks created using this Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette
In this eye look 1, I created a bronzy, burnt red look with focusing on the golden and cherry pink shades. I love how this turned out. I was expecting a more red eye look instead of a red-browny one here, so I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome, I get more color varieties in the looks generated than I was thinking from this palette!
I wanted to create something that is more wearable to me on a daily basis, so I used a lighter hand and the more neutral shades in this palette. Although it seems there’s not much going on in this second look, I like how soft and elegant it was. In the photo, the inner part of my lid seems bare, I put the light icy pink shimmer on the first row of the palette there. So it was there but just not reflected on the photo or the angle.
This third eye look was a version of the first look but has more depth. I put the shimmery brown (Romance) second last on the third row of the palette. It gives a lot of pigmentation and dimension compared with the matte brown. I actually think this look is even a more wearable nighttime look than the first one. This is another of my favorite look from this palette!
Finally it is the cherry red eye look! I feel like this look is what this Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette means to be! It is very easily achievable as I only used a few shades in this palette. I am sure you can give more definition to this look by adding more shades to it, like the different shades of red and plum. This look is on the girly side for me. It is not for the faint of heart!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I really like this Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette. It exceeded my expectation as it’s more versatile than I thought! I highly recommend this palette if you are looking for an easy-to-use, mess-free and red/brown themed eye palette! However, if you are looking for something really pigmented, intense palette, I don’t think I’ll recommend this. There are beautiful and pigmented shimmer shades, but the mattes require more effort and time to give a better color payoff.
I will rate this Violet Voss I Love U Cherry Much Eye Shadow Palette as:
- Texture: 8/10
- Color payoff: 6.5/10
- Longevity on eye lid: 9/10
- Quality consistency among shades: 8/10
- Color scheme uniqueness: 6/10
- Affordability: 7.5/10
