Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper eye shadow palette is one of the several eyeshadow palettes she recently released for the holiday season in 2020. I got mine from Macy’s. Unfortunately, as you can see in the photo, the gorgeous chrome metal shade was completely broken when I opened the package. The shattered pieces was all over the place, on other shades, on the mirror, inside the box, out the box… Honestly it is the second time this happened for my eyeshadow purchase from Macy’s.. I don’t think I’ve ever had this issue before from other retailers.
I love Bobbi Brown eyeshadow palettes. So I’m a little sad about this. But this palette is very beautiful and the color story is very cohesive. Brown neutral eyeshadow palettes are pretty much a no-brainer!

About the Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette
This Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette retails for $39 USD. It is available from many retailers, like Macy’s, Bobbi Brown (currently soldout), Bloomingdale’s, but not from Sephora or Nordstrom. While Norstrom has an exclusive version of this palette called ‘Modern Symphony Eyeshadow Palette‘.
It is described as ‘luminous golds, rich coppers, and warm neutrals ignite inspiration for a range of warm looks’. The outside packaging is a pretty water color artwork with a ballerina, which is created by Cecilia Carlstedt—’inspired by the energy of dance and the holidays in New York City’.
Ingredients and formulation of the Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette
All the mattes and sparkle eye shadow shades in the palette are made with talc as the first ingredient. For the two chrome metal eye shadows (middle 2 in the upper row), they also contains talc at the back of the list.
All the shades are free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, sulfites and gluten. There is no fragrance either.
The matte shadows are a bit dry to the touch. However, they work very well with a brush. They are not one-swipe pigments but are very buildable and blendable, typical of Bobbi Brown eyeshadows.
The chrome metal and sparkle eye shadows are creamy and smooth. Giving an intense pigmentation with finger application.
Swatches for the Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette
Although the palette looks mainly gold and brown neutrals, the swatches for the first row seem really rosy instead of brown. This is a pleasant surprise to me as I love pinky and rosy eye shadows!
However, the two skin tone shades and the two deep brown shades are both very similar. I wish the last brown was deeper than it is.
This palette performs better on the lid than in swatches.
2 eye looks using the Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette
Eye look #1 is a basic and wearable brown neutral eye look for any occasion. The chrome metal and sparkle shades add some elegance to the look! I used the lightest shade at the left upper corner to set my lid and highlight the brow bone. This palette contains all range of shades necessary to create a complete look.
Look #2 is more a dating look for me, with the feminine rose gold and coppery tones. I used the lighter brown to create more depth, it’ll be more intense or a date night look if you build up the intensity with the deeper brown.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I like this Bobbi Brown Golden Slipper Eye Shadow palette. It is very ‘safe’ and easy to use. That being said, it can be a bit boring if you already have all these similar shades in your collection. Especially after reviewing Rare Beauty’s eyeshadow palettes, this Bobbi Brown palette seems a bit non-exciting.
However, I would say the quality is there and the color selection is optimal and beautiful. This is a complete palette without the need of a brow bone shades or deepening shade from another palette (you could build the browns up if they’re not deep enough as is). I would recommend if you want an all-in-one handy palette for everyday look.
