I don’t usually get the holiday palettes from Too Faced as they are traditionally not as quality as their regular palettes. However, since they changed to a talc-free formula, I have been trying out more and more of their palettes. Although at a glance, this Pumpkin Spice palette’s color story may not be as attraction, I think it’ll be a great everyday palette.
The packaging of this Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette is made of sturdy cardboard with magnetic closure, instead of their iconic tin packaging. So it’s lighter in weight while still feels very protective for the eyeshadows.

About the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette
This Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette * retails for $54 USD. There is a total of 0.55 oz, or 15.84 g, of products. There are 18 shades in this palette, each of them weigh 0.031 oz, or 0.88 g. Similar to their Better Than Chocolate Eyeshadow palette * (reviewed here), this palette is also bulk made in USA and assembled in Dominican Republic.
As a Too Faced palette, this Pumpkin Spice palette also has a scent to it. It smells cinnamon to me, somewhat artificial, but it is not overpowering like some of their earlier palettes.
There’s a balanced amount of matte and shimmer shades in this palette.
Ingredients and formulation of the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette
The full list of ingredients of this palette can be found in Too Faced website. The lack of talc in the list of ingredients give me a peace of mind! Like the recent couple palette releases from Too Faced, I’m really enjoying the new formula. They may not swatched as smooth or pigmented on the arm, but they blend very smoothly and easily on the lid.
As usual, this Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette is parabens-free and cruelty-free.
For the formulation of this Pumpkin Slice eyeshadow palette, majority of the shades in this palette are very easy to blend and does not have much issue. Some of the brighter shades, like the hot pink matte (Thankful) and the orange matte (Second Helping) are on the drier side, you can feel the dryness in the pan with your finger. However, I don’t find they particularly hard to blend or have fall-out.
For the shimmers, they are mostly creamy and one-swipe pigmentation. My only issue is the darkest green black matte base shade with shimmer (More, Please!). It is like Thankful and Second Helping- the texture is dry. It also has some fall-out with blending. The shade still blends with nicely and non-patching in my experience, but you also get some amount of fall-out on your cheek after application. So I’d recommend to do your eye makeup first if you decided to use this shade for deepening.
I understand that the choice of colors in this Pumpkin Spice palette is a bit boring and generic. The pops of color do help a little to make it more versatile though.
Swatches for the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette
The shades are very much true to what you see in the pans. In general, the lighter shades swatched better than the darker ones.

I was able to create a bunch of looks using this Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette *! I like how easy and effortless these looks are!
I am a bit surprised that I am able to create so many different looks with this palette that has a lot of warm toned brown ‘pumpkin’ colors. Some of them maybe a bit more suitable for a night out than going to the office, but they are still very wearable and doesn’t take me extra time to get ready.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I like more than I thought about this Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Second Slice Sweet & Spicy eyeshadow palette *! As an eyeshadow palette, it may not be the most unique or the best quality, but it does get the job done. It worths the price if you’re a collector of Too Faced holiday palettes.
Given the amount of choices you get nowadays for palettes that are versatile, I think Too Faced needs to step up their games to make more unique color stories or pump up the qualities of their eyeshadows. Until then, I think the price of these palettes are a bit high for what you get. Of course, they have cute and fun packaging, but the actual products inside are somewhat lackluster, especially when you have all the new indie brands that makes amazing eyeshadows and competing in the market!
