(* affiliate link) I got a bunch of lip products during the most recent Spring Sephora VIB sale event in 2021. Today I’m going to share some of them! They are the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 in Muted Pink and Vivid Pink, Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Hot Gossip, Dior Addict Lip Glow in 020 Mahogany, and Tower 28 Milky Lip Jelly in Cashew and Almond!
Some of the products here are very hyped and some are new releases. Let’s see how they perform! First up are the lipliners!
Table of Contents
The Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 and Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat
The Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencil * retails for $19 USD a piece, each of them contains 0.01 oz or 0.5 g of product. There are currently 12 shades available. The Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner * retails for 0.04 oz or 1.2 g (I know, the oz to gram calculation doesn’t seem to add up… but those are the info I got from the products’ packaging..). I am actually surprised Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat is cheaper per gram than the Huda Beauty’s Lip Contour!
The Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 is an ‘automatic’ lip pencil in that you don’t need to use a pencil sharpener, but the product is twisted up from the bottom. While the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat is a classic pencil that needs to be sharpened by a sharpener.
I only own a couple lip liners in my collection, so I can’t say how these products rank in the market. But as the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats are pretty much the ‘gold standard’ for lip liners, and many people are familiar with them, I’m going to use them as a reference!
Both shades of the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 that I got are very very creamy, they are more creamy than CT’s Lip Cheat. It can be a con though as that mean they will be used up faster and easier to break. In my experience with them so far, I haven’t experienced any breakage, but I do think they are consumed very fast by me just testing them out.
I can say that these Huda Beauty lipliners are very long wear. They transfer very little if you apply one layer on your lip. Even after they wear down, my lip was still tinted, which is nice. They are also comfortable on the lip. I know that they claim these lipliners are ‘transfer proof, waterproof, and long lasting, up to nine hours to be exact’. I don’t think it is completely true. They didn’t last as long as 9 hours for me, with regular drinking and eating as the day goes by.
Regarding the shades of the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 lipliners, I would say the color on the models’ lip (from Sephora * or Huda Beauty‘s * page) are pretty close to the color ON THE PACKAGING of the lip pencils themselves. However, they deviate from what they look like on my lip. Muted Pink doesn’t look like a mauve-y pink on my lip, which I really hoped. It looks a lot more like straight brown beige color on my lip. The shade Vivid Pink pulls more coral than red on me as well. They probably appear very different depending on what’s the natural color of your lip!
It is interesting that Huda Beauty’s Muted Pink lip contour looks a lot like Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Hot Gossip on me! I think the color of Hot Gossip is pretty accurate as the one that you see online or on CT’s website.
Dior Addict Lip Glow in 020 Mahogany, Tower 28 ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly in Cashew and Almond
The Dior Addict Lip Glow * retails for $35 USD, containing 0.12 oz or 3.52 g of product. They are slightly tinted lip balm that are very hydrating and long lasting. The Tower 28 ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly Gloss * retails for $14 USD, each containing 0.13 oz or 3.9 g of product. Although they are called lip gloss, these products are very opaque imo and can be layered thick or thin as you like, there is no patchiness or any problem.
I have been using the Dior Addict Lip Glow * for years and I love them. They are very worthy of the price if you ask me! I currently have 4 shades in my collection, including this new release in 020 Mahogany! They all looks pretty on the lip and very hydrating for the whole day.
Although they swatched rather sheer and appears very similar (we’ll see all the swatches in the next session!), they somehow look quite distinguishable on the lip (at least in real person for me)! Dior lip products are some of my favorite on the market! I love their Rouge Dior Ultra Care Liquid Lipstick * (reviewed here) as well!
For the Tower 28 ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly, they are comfortable on the lip, hydrating and non-sticky. However, I think they still apply a little bit too thick than I would like. I usually blot them lightly with a tissue paper before going out. Having a mask on probably makes it transfers more than I’d like. For the price and the quality, they are still a good product.

Swatches and comparison swatches for the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0, Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat, Dior Addict Lip Glow & Tower 28 ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly
In the swatches, the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 actually appears very similar as the colors shown on Sephora * or Huda Beauty‘s * websites! Just to know that they may not be the exact colors when you apply them onto your own lip!
Also want to mention is that, the Tower 28 lip glosses in Cashew and Almond seems to be different on the swatch, but they are very similar on my lip.
For comparison, these are the Dior Addict Lip Glow lip balms in my collection:

Final Thoughts
Overall, I think every lip product that I mentioned here are great and no particular one that I don’t like. For the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0 Automatic Matte Lip Pencils, the quality is great and they last long enough for me to like them.
However, I would rather choose the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat if you find a similar shade between the 2 brands. Not only is the CT one more affordable, it will last you longer as well. I tried to remove all these 3 lipliners with a MAC makeup wipe, and CT’s Hot Gossip was the hardest to remove, which mean it is more long-lasting. I can see why they are so popular!
I highly recommend the Dior Addict Lip Glow if you’re looking for a lip balm that is very hydrating, light-weighed on the lip, long-lasting and looks pretty! For me, it is a must-have in my collection.
I think the Tower 28 ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly is my least favorite items in this lip haul. As I prefer something more lightweight on the lip, these are a bit heavy for me. They are also very easily transferred. I can see myself use them more when I’m not wearing a mask.
