Following my first review on the Magnetic Spirit eyeshadow palette from Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, I am tempted to try out her another eyeshadow palette that was released almost at the same time, the Confident Energy eyeshadow palette.
I don’t have much colorful palettes in my collection, so I wasn’t sure how I creative I can get with this palette. I like her shade selection, the peacock blue and the lime green are the ones I’m most looking forward to playing with!

About the Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette
This Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette also retails for $25 USD and contains the same amount of products as her Magnetic Spirit palette. It is available from Sephora‘s or Rare Beauty‘s website.
Rare Beauty described this palette as ‘from warm neutrals to vivid bolds in soft metallic and satin finishes, these creamy, pigment-packed shades are silky-smooth and blend effortlessly’. I agree that the textures in the Confident Energy palette are different from those in the Magnetic Spirit palette. There is no duo-chrome in this palette.
Packaging of the Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette
As I mentioned in the review for the Magnetic Spirit palette, I liked the packaging of these little palettes. I can feel that Selena has put a lot of thoughts on the packaging, it feels cute and polished.
The front of the packaging has the geometric shapes behind the brand name and I like how they feature the shade colors inside the palette on the outside. The blue and green are really eye-catchy.
Ingredients and formulation of the Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette
The ingredients in this Rare Beauty Confident Energy palette are more similar among the different shades, and none of them contains talc!
The textures of the eyeshadows are pretty consistent among all the shades. Unlike the Magnetic Spirit palette, which has 3 different textures to the touch, this palette feels the same for every shade. However, I still think they are not as creamy as other recent eyeshadows, like those from Too faced and Huda Beauty. Some shades in this Confident Energy palette are not showing up too much even I used my finger to put them on my lid.
Swatches for the Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette
In the photo above, the lightest shade (second to the right) is captured as a pale blue with my camera, but in person, it appears as very light green, almost white, instead.
The eyeshadows swatched very nice and opaque on my arm. It is a little hard to pick up, but this probably means there is not much fallout upon application onto the lids.
I like the swatch of this Confident Energy palette more than the Magnetic Spirit. They all still feel a little dry though.
Here is the clip for the swatches under the natural day light in motion! You can see the light pale green shade much better in the video.
3 eye looks using the Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette
I’ll never use these shades together in creating one eye look if it is not me trying to do a review using only this one palette! But sometimes when you do something you don’t normally do, you’ll have some new discoveries! This is no exception, not just this eye look using this Confident Energy palette, but the blue and lime green look below too! They are definitely on the bold side to me, but I like how they look indeed.
The quality of the peacock blue is pretty good. It is smooth, pigmented and easy to blend. If there’s also some matte shades in this palette to pair with these shades, it’ll be much appreciated!
In creating this 3rd eye look with this Confident Energy palette, I pulled in 2 transition shades from the ABH Soft Glam palette. I always try to include a look within my comfort zone to wear on a daily basis. This look 3 is what I came up with. I probably won’t realize it if I didn’t start writing about the eye makeup that I have. I enjoy yellowish, golden brown eye looks a lot. That’s why the Tom Ford Suspicion quad is my everyday go-to palette!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I enjoyed using this Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette. It is not an everyday palette for me, but a fun little palette that I’ll use once in a while. The quality of the eyeshadows and the packaging are nice for what you’re paying. I will recommend this Confident Energy palette over the Magnetic Spirit. This can be a great pairing palette if you like and use vibrant colors. Having said that, I won’t run out to buy this palette again if I lost it or something. I personally think the color story is not attractive enough and I also won’t be using it often.
I will rate this Rare Beauty Confident Energy eyeshadow palette by Selena Gomez as:
- Texture: 7.5/10
- Color payoff: 7/10
- Longevity on eye lid: 7.5/10
- Quality consistency among shades: 8.5/10
- Color scheme uniqueness: 8/10
- Affordability: 7/10
