Skin exfoliation and hydration are two important steps in achieving perfect skin. I am going to share with you 3 facial masks that give you a glowing skin by just one use! I have been rotating them in my skin care routine for removing dead skin and smoothing in a weekly basis. I have recently also shared what facial oils and serum I normally use at part of my regimen as a person with dry skin.
Exfoliating masks may sound like they are pretty much the same, in the sense that they help to get rid of the surface dead skin layer and brighten your skin and make it glow. However, it seems to me that the consistency and the ingredients of the base is where the money at.
#1 Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask
This is an exfoliating clay mask and retails for $45 USD (3.4 oz/ 100 ml), I got it from Sephora. It may sound a bit expensive, but 100 ml can last you a really long time! I believe I am using about 4-5 ml each time. So this big tub can last you a while. Especially if you are rotating a couple other facial masks at the same time.
This exfoliating mask claims to “helps visibly brighten dull, fatigued skin” and is suitable for people having skin concerns of “dullness and uneven texture”. It also contains jojoba seed oil, Eucalyptus leaf oil and cranberry seed oil, and some plant extracts. Another highlighted ingredient is turmeric, which acts as an antioxidant. While the cranberry seeds serve to exfoliate and removing dead skin. I always think clay masks are good to reducing the appearance of pores too.
In my own experience, after only single use of this mask, my skin becomes smoother and brighter. Even though I always overdo it (remove the mask way after it has been hardened), my face does not feel even a tiny bit of dryness after washing the mask off. This is one of those masks that you know you found it! It is a great facial masks that give you a glowing skin.
If you are looking for an effective exfoliating mask that also do a good job in brightening your skin, this is a great choice.
#2 fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask
This is also an exfoliating mask, but it does not solidify like the Kiehl’s one does. It is priced at $62 USD for 3.3 oz/ 100 ml. And is categorized as “Clean at Sephora products” I went through 2 or 3 of the smaller tub that was sold on Sephora before. I do not know why they do not carry it in their website anymore. I would much prefer to get a smaller size at the beginning to try out if it works for you first. It is quite expensive in my opinion.
They claim this mask can “targets dull, rough, and uneven skin for a smoother, brighter complexion”, and it is suitable to people who want to improve “dullness, uneven texture, fine lines and wrinkles and dryness” (a lot of claims, isn’t it?!). The base of this mask has a very rich creamy consistency. It seems to contain some proprietary ingredients called the “Super 7 Complex” that help to achieve their claims. It also has lemon peel oil, vegetable oil and a list of plant extracts. The exfoliate in this mask is a bit more gentle than the one in Kiehl’s. But I like this creamy base more than clay.
I would highly recommend this mask if you want some exfoliation and a super smooth skin! I personally do not think many of the masks from fresh are special or worth the price. They are generally hydrating but do not wow me, taking into account how much they cost. However, I will repurchase this mask for sure (when the Sephora sale comes). I have not experienced any other mask yet that give me that level of smoothness on my face after a single use! I was amazed! This is definitely one of those great facial masks that give you a glowing skin! It is so skin smoothing!
#3 My Beauty Diary Squalene Restorative Hydrating Mask
This is not a high-end mask as the last two that we just talked about, but it is affordable and great quality facial masks that give you a glowing skin! I got it on Amazon. It currently retails for $13.35 USD for 8 sheet masks with 23 ml of essence in each pack. It does not exfoliate but is good for dryness.
Each mask is soaked with essence that contains avocado oil, meadowfoam seed oil, many other plant extracts and collagen. It is claimed to “reveal supple and moisturized skin, remove roughness and dullness and deliver superb vitality and brightness”. I think this mask is very hydrating and I can feel that the essence is easily absorbed into the skin, not just sitting on the surface. What I usually do is to put the mask on until it dries up, and then massage the remaining essence (inside the packaging) onto my face and neck. You will be able to have a supple and glowing skin the next morning!
Although I have not tried it, I think the results may even be better if you exfoliate the skin first and then put this mask on.
I hope these 3 facial masks that give you a glowing skin are informative and helpful to you. Let me know if you have tried other masks that gave you a similar glowing skin!
