Charlotte Tilbury has just come out with a new Walk of No Shame collection after one of her best-selling lipsticks. Products in this Walk of No Shame collection all have a ruby-red color tone to it. The Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame eyeshadow palette is the newest addition to her luxury palettes. It was originally named “Walk of Shame”.
Although I don’t own any of her other eye quads with similar color scheme, the moment I saw this, I immediately think of her other newer quad, Mesmerising Maroon. Comparing pictures of the two quads in Charlotte Tilbury’s website, it seems Walk of No Shame almost leans more towards orange rather than berry.
Both the Prime and Enhance shades are shimmery. The Smoke shade is mostly matte, although it does seem to have a slight sheen to it. And the Pop shade is sparkly, but not very easy to pick up even by finger. Here are some swatches of Walk of No Shame:
Eye look with Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame
I tried out the shades on my eye to make an eye look according to the layout recommended by CT in all her luxury palettes. 1: Prime (all over the lid), 2: Enhance (put onto the outer 2/3 of the lid), 3: Smoke (deepen my outer corner) and 4: pop (added to the center of the lid with finger). The first photo uses shades 1, 2, 3 with a synthetic eye brush (a BH Cosmetics brush). The second photo uses a goat hair eye brush (Sonia G Worker 2):
After my first impression, I observed 3 cons:
- The shades are a bit dusty, especially the Enhance shade. I can see kickbacks on the pan even after dipping my brush into it lightly.
- Picking up the Pop shade with my finger 2-3 times, I already see some sort of hard pan forming on top
- There is a lot of fallout from the Pop shade on my face (within 3 hours of wearing)
While it can be another cons for some people, the pros for me is the wearability of these berry tone shades in this palette. Initially looking at it, I thought it would be very pigmented and the finished look would be too red/deep for me. But it turns out to be quite wearable and subtle (which I like). I think the Smoke shade is buildable if you want the look to be more intense. For the intensity that I’ve built up in the photos, the shades don’t seem to be patchy. Finally, the selection of shades in this quad is pretty coherent and they are in balance with each other, enabling the creation of a very feminine and pretty look.
Comparison with TF Honeymoon
Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame and Tom Ford Honeymoon are not very similar, but I mainly want to compare the lower two shades in the Honeymoon quad from Tom Ford to the Walk of No Shame from Charlotte Tilbury.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I like the new Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame palette. However, given the amount of cons and the price point ($53 USD) of this palette, I don’t think it is worthwhile to spend the money on this. The color scheme is not very exciting or unique either. If you like this kind of color scheme in an eyeshadow palette, I’m sure there are a lot of options on the market with better quality. Although it is very much a personal preference, I think the number of occasions that I’d want to wear this palette is limited. I’ll rate this palette as:
- Texture: 7/10
- Color payoff: 6/10 (it is not very pigmented)
- Longevity on eyelid: 9/10
- Quality consistency among shades: 7/10
- Color scheme uniqueness: 6/10
- Affordability: 6.5/10
