Huda Beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions is one of the 3 mini palettes that Huda Beauty has recently came out with. The other two are the Purple and Sand (pinky nude theme) Haze. I believe this Khaki Haze Obsessions is the palette many people are interested in, especially for the fall season! Olive green/khaki colors are the color of the year!

About the Huda Beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions palette
This Huda beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions palette retails for $29 USD. It contains 5 mattes, 3 shimmers and 1 shimmery topper shades. In the photo below, the shading or lighting on the right is a better representation of the colors you can see in person. This is more obvious for the mattes at the bottom corners and the pinkish nude on the top middle.
On Sephora‘s website, it is described as ‘A softer side to the smoky eye, these three gorgeous colorways suit every skin tone’ and ‘Create a more modern edit of the smoky eye with these palettes of buttery mattes, intense metallics, and soft-shimmery toppers. Each palette is created to highlight, line, and define the eyes for endless possibilities, from off-duty chic to bold, runway-ready looks’.
Ingredients and formula of Huda Beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions palette
Among the eyeshadow palettes that I reviewed recently: the new Dior quints, Natasha Denona Glam palette and the Charlotte Tilbury Walk of No Shame, this is the only palette that does not contain talc as the key ingredients! A great laud for that! I’m not allergic to talc but I prefer makeup without talc especially for long-term use.
I like these Haze Obsessions palettes not only because they not contain talc, but the other two palettes look nice and versatile too. I only got this Khaki Haze palette for now, but I may get one more. I think their formula is very smooth (the mattes) and pigmented (also for the shimmers), despite the fact that they are free of talc! I hope other beauty brands can also make great shadows without talc.
Swatches of Huda Beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions
The mattes in this Khaki Haze Obsessions palette is very creamy, soft and pigmented. As the shimmers/toppers are a bit hard, I was expecting it to be sheer and hard to pick up. However, I could still pick them up pretty easily and they are very shiny and opaque when swatches. The texture of the these shimmery shades are very unique and it is the first time I ever see this texture in a palette.
The shade on the upper right corner is a very interesting duo-chrome: when swatched, it is very sheer and I couldn’t even pick it up well with my finger. However, in a different angle, you can see the high-shine nature of this shade and it wasn’t as sheer at all. In the photo above, you can see it looks like a golden brown from the front, but when I tilted by hand (photo below), it shows a neon pink shift.
I’ve attached a video of how the eyeshadows look on my hand swatched in motion:
2 eye looks using the Huda Beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions palette
I like how this pinkish-red eye look came out! The shadows perform very well. They blend very easily, smooth and pigmented. One criticism is that, the shimmer shades (all 4 of them in this palette) cannot be picked up even when I used natural hair brush. I only used fingers to put on the shimmers in both eye looks.
I love this eye look too! It is very sultry without being too dramatic. The shades coordinate with each other very well.
This palette is very well thought out and the quality is very nice too.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I really like this palette. I will definitely recommend it! The shadows are very soft and pigmented (not hyper-pigmented like the Too faced Salted Caramel eyeshadow palette that I reviewed recently, I was amazed!), they blend easily.
Although the shimmers are not intended to be used with brushes, I have no issue with that. They are just so beautiful! Now I’m considering getting the purple haze palette too after reviewing another purple palette recently! (Dior 769 Tutu)
I watched some videos online and understand that some people really don’t think the palette is worth grabbing. I think it really boils down to what kind of eye look or intensity you’re looking for. If you want something that is intense and has color payoff like those from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette, this Khaki Haze Obsessions palette is not quite there yet.
All in all, I will rate this Huda Beauty Khaki Haze Obsessions eyeshadow palette as:
- Texture: 9/10
- Color payoff: 8/10
- Longevity on eye lid: 8.5/10
- Quality consistency among shades: 7/10
- Color scheme uniqueness: 10/10
- Affordability: 9/10
